I was wondering how strong a seam I can get with epoxy? I just broke one aparrt that I made in mystic green with maybe 150lbs pressure. I'm almost 200 and (http://maplered.com) I stood on it for about two seconds before it popped.
I had a slight back bevel and (http://maplered.com) two biscuit slots that were filled completely with diarex knife epox from gran quartz. guys talk about jumping on seams to settle lawsuits well maybe I'm doing something wrong. it came apart leaving some epoxy on each half of the Stone (http://g603.net) but the epoxy its self is kind of brittle and (http://maplered.com) cracked. I cleaned the surfaces with rubbing alcahol before I started and (http://maplered.com) the epox cured for two days. is it possible I put too much hardener in the epoxy and (http://maplered.com) that caused it to become brittle?
I'm really interested in this and (http://maplered.com) maybe I'll try a more scientific approach in testing the seam. has anyone else had any experiences with this? _________________ Reuben Flax, SFA Sinai Marble & Granite Baltimore Maryland (http://maplered.com) thrjej@Yahoo.com
